Reincarnation

I have been reincarnated several times. Never been that educated, but seem to have good living skills. In the late 17th century I was about 40 years old, living in Salem, MA. One day some dressed up jerk came by my home and asked if I would like to be a witch. He said, “It is perfectly legal”. My reaction, “Thanks but no thanks”
He pulled out a gun and said I was going to be a witch. That life didn’t last long after that.

300 years later, in the early 21th century in am living Kabul, Afghanistan. Some guys from a foreign country with guns said I had to go vote for our new leader. Well I did, but I was very scared. So I just packed up and moved to Bagdad, Iraq.

The same guys with the same guns were there saying the same thing. All I am trying to do is trying to sell a few fruits and vegetables. It gets harder and harder with the bombs flying around. It is getting harder to know what to do. Maybe I could go to the poppy fields in Afghanistan. It might be a little better. I sure hope my next life is better than this.

Wall Street Journal

I am not a Wall Street Journal internet subscriber, So I had to spend a little time finding the well written article by Suzanne Sataline, for The Wall Street Journal, but here it is. After reading both articles, where else can you put this piece. The Daily Journal Editorial Board erred by putting this on the Faith and Religion section. It should have been on the Financial section. See this very good article here. Market driven actions belong on the financial pages. Actions by those driven by power and self-righteousness should and can be found on the front pages of any newspaper. Those trying to find a spiritual enlightenment though the teaching of a very Humble Jew that lived 2000 years ago should look elsewhere.

I am just the son of a poor tobacco farmer and not too learned, but when I read about that Young Man, He did not like all that money business going on in places devoted to the worship of God. Matthew 21:12
“And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,”

To those whose believe they have perfect insight to the Word of God I point to this, Matthew 22:23-33
“The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him, 24 saying: “Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. 25 Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. 26 Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh. 27 Last of all the woman died also. 28 Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. 31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” 33 And when the multitudes heard this, they were astonished at His teaching.”

Would it not be nice if we could find a way to seek the teaching of Jesus Christ without letting money, property, prestige divert us from that goal?

Who shall go to Heaven/Hell?

When I was a young lad, my family went to the Three Forks Bacon Creek Baptist Church in Hammondsville, KY. Catholics were going to hell with the Methodist and Presbyterians because they did not totally submerge their members under water as John did Jesus. Then Baptists started building tanks in their church, then they were going to hell because it was not running water. The reason others were going to hell never ended, they that drank alcohol was one, when that included me I was out and never went back.

When I joined our fellowship, I found an open ended manner to spiritually. It had been hard for me to eliminate all that mass of criticism of other people’s faith that I learned as a child. I have come to believe many people have to have other folks’ blessing to establish a belief in God. This I believe should not be tampered with. But of course politicians use it to their own means. This should be condemned.

Sending one into sure death is politics whether you are Robert E. Lee sending Confederate soldiers up missionary ridge in Gettysburg, PA or a hard to define Political Muslims sending boys into a crowded area of folks with explosives strapped to their backs.

Dangerous Drinking

The answer is very simple: It is all about raising children. Number one stop giving unfettered access to automobiles to sixteen year old children. A child should show responsibility before being allowed total access to an automobile.

Get your small brain off alcohol and drugs, then give your full attention to your child’s behavior. Know their friends, where they go, what activities they engage. Have a honest relationship with your child. My friends that should start at one day old, not 18 years old.
