Do not forget this may have been suicide

Look at these two experiences:

A man from a very wealthy family went to Switzerland in 1931 to get treatment from the notable psychiatrist, Carl Jung. He spent an entire summer with the Doctor. Trying to formulate a manner of living that would not include alcohol. He left the good doctor and headed home on a cruise ship. Sad to say he was drinking while on the ship, before reaching harbor in USA. He returned to Dr. Carl Jung. This is a rendition of what was said: The doctor said: “You have the mind of a chronic alcoholic. I have never seen one single case recover, where that state of mind existed to the extent that it does in you.” Our friend felt as though the gates of hell had closed on him with a clang.

He said to the doctor, “Is there no exception?”

    “Yes,” replied the doctor, “there is. Exceptions to cases such as yours have been occurring since early times. Here and there, once in a while, alcoholics have had what are called vital spiritual experiences. To me these occurrences are phenomena. They appear to be in the nature of huge emotional displacements and rearrangements. Ideas, emotions, and attitudes which were once the guiding forces of the lives of these men are suddenly cast to one side, and a completely new set of conceptions and
motives begin to dominate them. In fact, I have been trying to produce some such emotional rearrangement within you. With many individuals the methods which I employed are successful, but I have never been successful with an alcoholic of your description.”

Roll the clock forward to January 1976 in Minneapolis MN, a psychiatrist of German decent told me the same thing.

When our minds come to the point as these two very well known psychiatrist and come to know that we are powerless over this addiction, No prohibition, no education, no laws, nor guns will heal anyone that has my illness nor the one of Rowland Hazzard, the man above. Nor will it keep anyone one from becoming afflicted with this illness. The first step is we know nothing.

Studying drugs to end addiction is the same as studying concentrated sweets to end diabetes.

Why would I send money for this venture? I will for sure send my sincere condolences

Mark 9:29

So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

-Qur’an Surah 2:183
Translation Al-Baqara

O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint. The translated -Qur’an to English I have, says,”Perchance you guard yourselves against evil”

I have read Mark Chapter 9 many times. Every time Christ was saying to the devote followers, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” he meant we all must pray and use self-restraint.

More spiritual thought showing we must handle spiritual diseases in spiritual ways.

No these people are nothing more than Martha Stewart and Bernie Ebbers with a pistol. If we would get off this stupid idea that we can save people from themselves these people would have to get real job or at least change occupations. Nor would we keep destroying our justice system trying to stop the wrong crime.

I have a sad heart for anyone that loses a son or daughter to a deadly disease of alcoholism/drug addiction. I wish I had kept records of the wakes I have attended of those of us that died too early of this disease, not to mention the obituaries of those I knew only they had the disease. I did not know the families to console. I have been to wakes where the only one I knew was the one in the casket.

However I do not believe setting up a foundation to raise money to spread more disinformation about this disease can possibly be the answer to resolve grief. I hold my beliefs from many years of experience and the two following quotes:Mark 9:29
And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

4 Little Animals

Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff– including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.

This was passed on to me from another pumpkin. Now, it is your turn to pass it to a pumpkin. I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch.
